IEEE PES Orange County Site Visit: SCE Grid Technology Development Lab-Pomona

August 20 @ 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

[] Southern California Edison (SCE), a subsidiary of Edison International (EIX), is an investor-owned electric utility operating in the State of California, covering over 50,000 square miles and serving 15 million people. SCE’s vision is to lead the transformation of the electric power industry, focusing on opportunities in clean energy, efficient electrification, and the grid of the future, while successfully enabling promising technologies to support the long-term success of the cities and customers within the SCE service area. Grid Technology Development Lab – Pomona The Pomona Electric Vehicle Test Center (EVTC), established in 1993, initially focused on testing electric vehicle drive systems, battery types, and infrastructure options. Over time, it expanded to include larger and more diverse energy storage systems, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and microgrids. The center’s primary functions involve testing and evaluating energy storage devices and transportation electrification technologies. It features various lab spaces, including Advanced Energy Storage for modeling systems and developing grid-edge technology, Microgrid Test Pad for supporting microgrid projects, High Power Charge Lab for evaluating high-powered EV chargers and infrastructure, Garage of the Future for simulating household loads with solar panels, Electric Drive Systems for testing vehicle-to-grid integration, and Test Vehicle Charge Lines for assessing energy consumption and interoperability of EV chargers with different vehicles. Maximum seating for this event is limited to 20. Please make sure that you register before July 25th 2025. Bldg: Suite 100, 265 N East End Avenue, Pomona, California, United States, 91767
