Abstract:
In this talk he will be presenting the evolution of switching engines. Hardware based packet processing has always been fast changing, due to new technologies disrupting the status quo. While speeds and feeds are very visible, fundamental transitions in the market were driven by new technologies and architectures. He will be covering our journey so far from L2, L3 to L4-L7 switching and the path forward with flexible switching.

Vekat Pullela
Venkat Pullela is a Distinguished Engineer at Broadcom, focusing on SDN technologies and Switching Architectures. Earlier, he led various Engineering, Technology and Operations teams, as a Sr. Director of Engineering at Cisco Systems. As an entrepreneur he set up one successful and other attempted micro business. Venkat volunteers at the local library and is a board member of The San Jose Public Library Foundation.
