The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) affinity group has an active chapter in the Santa Clara Valley (SCV) Section. WIE membership is available for $25 to IEEE members, and free to IEEE student members.
The mission of IEEE WIE is to facilitate the global inspiration, engagement and advancement of women in technical disciplines. IEEE WIE envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity
The mission of SCV WIE is to:
- To increase participation of women in IEEE
- To create a comfortable environment for women in IEEE to meet, network, and develop their careers
- To encourage girls and young women to pursue careers in any engineering discipline as well as computer science
