About the IEEE Technology & Engineering Management Society

The IEEE Technology & Engineering Management Society (TEMS) provides information and services to IEEE members and the worldwide audience of practitioners and researchers engaged in the profession of engineering, technology, and innovation management.

The TEMS San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) Joint Chapter has developed a forum for the discussion of management and leadership topics through monthly dinner meetings, aiming to hold 9-10 such meetings throughout the year. Additionally, a TEMS SFBA Chapter website is maintained, and the chapter occasionally sponsors or supports special events – such as the 2011 International Technology Management Conference in San Jose.

Some of our meetings are currently held online.

Call for Nominations: Each year the IEEE TEMS SFBA Chapter holds elections for four officer positions (Board of Directors) to serve and steer the chapter for the coming year: Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. Candidates who are nominated will be presented for an online election in the fall. In preparation for this year’s nominations and elections, we are seeking new board members who will keep the group fresh and operating smoothly during 2024.

To qualify for the TEMS Board, you must be a member of IEEE and IEEE TEMS. If you are financially strapped this year, TEMS Membership Scholarships are available. All you need do is apply and be willing to be an active participant on the Board.

The chapter also has several volunteer board support positions that are not elected. We are seeking candidates in all positions.

Some Details:

  1. One Board meeting per month (all roles) – last Thursday breakfast meeting
  2. One SCV Section Meeting per month (Chapter Chair or Vice-Chair or Treasurer)
  3. One TEMS local chapter technical meeting per month – 1st Thursday evening of the month
