Summary:
NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover is safe on Mars and poised to collect groundbreaking science and samples for possible future return to Earth. This talk describes the EMC effort—from design and analysis through testing at the spacecraft level—to ensure a spacecraft capable of efficiently conducting its mission in a variety of non-deterministic operational scenarios in diverse and demanding electromagnetic environments.
Bio: Mr. Edward Gonzales is Lead Electromagnetic Compatibility engineer for the Mars 2020 Perseverance mission at JPL. He leads EMC efforts on SWOT, Europa Clipper, and Mars Sample Return missions. Prior to working at JPL, Edward was Senior Reliability Evaluation Engineer at Qualcomm Inc. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a M.S. and B.S. (magna cum laude) in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on electrophysics
