One of our section goals is helping students transition into full IEEE membership and successful careers.  Along with STEP events, we offer the student branches the opportunity to have a speaker from the section give a career oriented talk.  We found that including spouses of students in this talk is beneficial to the members, as it gives their spouses an idea of what to expect in an engineering career.  The section provides the speaker and pizza for the students and their spouses.  The section has supported Chad and Melissa Kidder giving a talk entitled, “Engineering Your Career” for several years now.  If you are interested in presenting to the student branches (any or all) their talk is available as a template, or you may provide your own.  Please contact the student branch liaison or the section chair to get involved in this program.
