About IEEE United
IEEE United is a multi-institution cooperative IEEE Student Organization to foster and facilitate large scale events and projects, leveraging the talents and resources of many students and their institutions. We serve as a platform for IEEE Student Branches to collaborate and network with other student branches and professionals because we think working together in the IEEE community is better than working solo. IEEE United is the first organization to bring together student branches within Region 6 in efforts to advancing technology for humanity.
History of IEEE United
Before COVID-19, many of the day-to-day activities of IEEE student branches were organized and revolved around in-person interactions. Until 2020 (when COVID-19 hit), IEEE student branches had to work around the remote environment to maintain their activity, including the provision of opportunities to network with professionals and develop their member’s technical skills through workshops. In summer of 2020, IEEE United was formed around the idea of serving as a platform for IEEE student branches to collaborate and network with other student branches leader. Since that summer, IEEE United has gained publicity within the IEEE community and began working with IEEE professionals from various sections to make IEEE United a resourceful platform.
