J. Jobin is a tinkerer, researcher, and developer who works on technological problems in a variety of domains (renewables, healthcare, aviation, etc.) at GE Research, leading projects from a research concept/idea stage to functional PoC prototype to final production. Before GE, he worked at a couple of VC-funded startup companies (Packet Design, Dust Networks) in the San Francisco Bay Area, wearing multiple hats.

He has a PhD in Computer Science (focus area: wireless networks) from the University of California, Riverside. He loves technology and its application to solving meaningful problems. Learning is a lifelong passion and he especially enjoys reading/learning about technology, healthcare, food and nutrition, human physiology/performance.

He is a long-standing member of the IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Education Society, and ACM.
