San Francisco Bay Area Chapter
The San Francisco and Oakland East Bay Sections have two of the highest concentrations of current and potential Computer Society members in the United States, yet were unrepresented within the Computer Society. Establishing a joint chapter with these two sections allows for a collaboration between highly academic computing work being done at research institutions in the OEB section along side the commercial and high-tech work that is indicative of the SF Bay Area as a whole.
Chapter Construction
The San Francisco Bay Area chapter was established through a formal petition process in late 2021, and was officially formed on January 10, 2022.The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is a joint chapter, joining the San Francisco and the Oakland East-Bay sections.
