This month we will explore some recent expert projections regarding the long-term effects of the introduction of Hybrid Work (Virtual and In-Person combined) approaches. We will do this via a video presentation by an Economist, Robert Reich. Then we will discuss what was presented in the Video.

After this, we will also explore two very recent online papers that try to show how the hybrid work approach is working out in reality:

1. Please review this article: “Great Expectations: Making Hybrid Work Work,” and its sub articles.

2. Time permitting, we will dive into a second interesting article: “7 inconvenient truths about the hybrid work trend.”

The video and written material should offer some interesting ways of looking at these new work trends and, hopefully, stimulate us to think about the real impact of these changes in work approach.

Come join us in exploring the latest in this major, and ongoing workplace change, and management’s response to it.

Facilitator:
The facilitator of this meeting will be Carl Angotti, a longtime member of IEEE TEMS, and the President of the consulting firm Angotti Product Development, where he has led small virtual project teams for more than 30 years. Most of these teams worked in this “hybrid” style. He holds an MBA from San Jose State University, an MSEE from the University of Southern California and a BSEE from Carnegie-Mellon University.
