Presentation: IEEE TEMS Visioning Meeting
It’s 2015, and with this new year, we are have changed from the IEEE Technology Management Council (TMC) to the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society, SCV Chapter (TEMS Santa Clara Valley / San Francisco / Oakland-East Bay Chapter)! We are doing more than changing our name, we are focusing on major changes in our programs and meetings.
We invite IEEE TEMS members, IEEE members at-large, and those who are interested in joining the TEMS SCV Chapter in the near term, to get in on the fun of crafting our vision for the next several years. Please RSVP on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ieee-tems-visioning-meeting-tickets-1538869… and see our web http://www.ieee-scv-tmc.org for additional chapter information.
Going forward, we are going to focus on a wide variety of best practices for the management of technology and engineering personnel and projects. These include line, product and project management. We are also planning to provide information to help those working on projects to understand how the latest techniques and approaches are used to manage in this fast paced environment. Our intention is to help implementers and their managers to work together more effectively. We will also consider challenges in different levels of management from first line to executive and even address some topics with engineers and working productively with your manager.
We plan to start this with a members meeting to overview the new society and gather topics as well as potential speaker requests. We will assess the chapter vision statement and how to reflect where we are going as an organization.
As we normally do, light snacks and soda will be provided for those that attend.
We ask for a donation to assist in food costs: IEEE Members $2, and all others $5. Please pay at the door (no credit cards). Be sure to RSVP as described above so we can know how much food to order. Come engage or re-engage with professionals in a collegial and fun setting!
