“A Microsoft survey of more than 30,000 global workers showed that 41% of workers were considering quitting or changing professions this year, and a study from HR software company Personio of workers in the U.K. and Ireland showed 38% of those surveyed planned to quit in the next six months to a year. In the U.S. alone, April saw more than four million people quit their jobs, according to a summary from the Department of Labor – the biggest spike on record.”
The above comments were taken from a related article at the BBC: The Great Resignation: How employers drove workers to quit, which was dated 1st July 2021. Is the “Great Resignation” still happening? Are the reasons for quitting still valid? Have things changed much over the period of the COVID-19 dislocation?
This month we will look into the phenomenon of the “Great Resignation” as well as its offshoot “Quiet Quitting”. We will show a few videos related to the subject and discuss our thoughts about these topics from an employee and a management perspective.
Let’s look into this subject together, from the perspective of a Manager and an Employee.
