Summary: The manufacturing industry has the power to reduce environmental impacts in the midst of an urgent climate crisis. Many already have a roadmap of commitments and sustainability objectives: developing services and products with operational efficiency, optimizing the use of resources, and reducing wastes. To track their sustainability goals and progress, organizations are continually evaluating their practices and technologies. How are the 5 R’s: record, report, reduce, replace, and remove, aiding accountability?
The sustainability journey, however, requires collaboration. Most businesses do not operate alone and have dependencies on their partners and suppliers. The industry needs a common language, standards on how and what to measure for their sustainability KPIs, how to share secured and trusted data, building common data models and algorithms, and having agreed-to metrics for data recording and reporting.
This panel will explore innovative technologies enabling the 5 R’s for sustainable manufacturing, and identify solutions and strategies for companies as they move forward on their sustainability journey. During the event, moderated by Craig Bauhaus, Sr. Industry Executive in Manufacturing at Microsoft, and a panel of subject matter experts will focus on Sustainable Manufacturing and Leveraging the 5 R’s: Record, Report, Reduce, Replace and Remove.
