Agentic AI represents a paradigm shift in artificial intelligence, moving beyond static models and reactive systems to dynamic, autonomous agents capable of setting goals, making decisions, and adapting over time. Unlike traditional AI, which passively responds to inputs, agentic AI can plan, reason, and act in complex, real-world environments—making it especially suited for the demands of modern healthcare.

In this talk, we explore the emerging role of agentic AI in transforming clinical workflows, decision-making, and patient engagement. From autonomous patient monitoring and adaptive treatment planning to intelligent workflow orchestration, agentic systems have the potential to operate as active teammates to clinicians. We discuss the potential capabilities of agentic AI in learning continuously from patient data, suggesting personalized interventions, and coordinating across departments—all while adapting in real time to new conditions or goals.

We also discuss real-world application scenarios, including cases like oncology support agents that will be able to manage treatment pathways and virtual health assistants that will monitor chronic conditions at home. Alongside these innovations, we examine critical challenges such as explainability, safety, ethical oversight, and integration into existing clinical systems.

Ultimately, agentic AI can offer a path toward more proactive, personalized, and scalable healthcare. This talk presents both the promise and the responsibilities of bringing agentic AI into mainstream healthcare—shifting the role of AI from a passive tool to an active, intelligent partner.

Speaker Bio – Dr. Anuradha Kar is an Associate Professor in AI and Robotics at Aivancity Paris Cachan, France, where she teaches and mentors graduate students in deep learning, AI for health, computer vision, explainable AI, and human-computer interaction.

She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Galway, Ireland. However, the rapidly evolving field has been raising several ethical concerns, which calls for a more comprehensive evaluation scheme. In easy-to-understand language, this talk will delve into the quantitative analysis of model performance, emphasizing the critical importance of explainability. As ML models become increasingly complex and pervasive, understanding their decision-making processes is paramount. We’ll explore various performance metrics, their limitations, and the growing need for transparency. Topics covered include Cohen’s Kappa Statistic, Matthew’s correlation coefficient (MCC), Confusion Matrix, Precision, Recall, G-measure, ROC Curve, Youden’s J statistic, Type II Adversarial attack, R-squared, LIME, SHAP, and more.

Bio: Vishnu S. Early detection and efficient management of these disorders can provide significant health benefits. By providing real-time data-driven insights, AI-driven methods meet an urgent need for early detection and management of these disorders.
In this talk, Prof. Phoha will present the potential of AI-driven early diagnosis and Digital Therapeutics (DTx) for neurological disorders. Using the unique properties of data generated through neurological anomalies and disorders, one can use AI methods such as transfer learning from existing knowledge; one-shot and few-shot learning for spiking and sparse data, and hidden Markov models to find underlying relationships and causes of malignant neurological disorders. The speaker will show how the generated data can be captured through smart wearables and phones, how uncovering relationships provides insights for digital rehabilitation, and how using augmented reality and virtual reality provides tremendous potential for cognitive therapy, psychiatric assessments, and rehabilitation. at 4:00 PM by Prof. deSilva: Blockchain and AI for Industrial Applications
Summary: The fusion of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) heralds a new era of industrial innovation with opportunities for transparency, efficiency, and autonomy. Blockchain is a decentralized digital ledger that can be significantly augmented using conventional and generative AI capabilities This lecture will delve into the synergistic potential of Blockchain and AI, aiming to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to leverage these technologies, their individual capabilities, and how their integration can create robust solutions for industrial challenges. Participants will learn to design, implement, and manage Blockchain-AI integrated systems for energy and manufacturing applications. For instance, grid management and energy trading where Blockchain enables secure, transparent transactions for energy trading, allowing for decentralized energy markets with AI being leveraged to predict energy demand and supply, optimizing grid operations and enabling dynamic pricing models based on real-time data. Also, automated compliance and quality control where smart contracts can automatically enforce agreements based on predefined rules and conditions. The workshop will conclude with best practices for the design and development of AI Blockchain applications for industrial innovation.
Bio: Daswin De Silva is a Full-time Professor and Deputy Director of the Centre for Data Analytics and Cognition (CDAC) at La Trobe University, Australia. Blockchain has been widely adopted as an approach to facilitate decentralized trustworthy computing with non-repudiated information records. Multi-signature, on the other hand, enables multiple parties to approve each transaction in a secure and efficient way. This talk will discuss our latest studies on the adoption of multi-signature schemes in blockchain, including a secure and efficient multi-signature scheme to facilitate multi-party approval process on Hyperledger Fabric, an enterprise blockchain platform; and a group-oriented multi- signature supporting monotonic endorse policies in Hyperledger Fabric.
Bio: Yuhong Liu is currently an Associate Professor at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Santa Clara University.
