Introduction to Latest Concepts in mmWave Automotive Radar Signal Processing

Abstract: In this talk, audience will be introduced to the fundamentals and the latest technology concepts of automotive millimeter wave 4D imaging radar which has become an essential part of the autonomous vehicles.  An overview of key signal processing challenges, such as MIMO waveform processing and sparse array angle estimation, among others, will also be discussed. Speaker: Dr. Ryan Wu, Fellow - Advanced Radar Solutions, NXP Semiconductors Biography Ryan Wu (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1998, and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from New York University, New York, NY, USA, in 2005. He has more than 20 years of experience in aerospace and defense industries building radar, electronic warfare, and navigation solutions for US DoD, DARPA, and FAA. He joined NXP Semiconductors in 2017 and is currently serving as an NXP Fellow leading the development of advanced signal processing and machine learning solutions for next-gen automotive radar systems, front-end MMICs, and processor SoCs. He has to date over 50 granted and pending patents on radar, surveillance, and navigation technologies.s
