Section Conference Chair Responsibilities

In general, the Phoenix Section Conference chair is the champion that represents the Section to other IEEE entities as an excellent host location for conferences. The Conference Chair solicits conference organizers and society officers, creates connections, and identifies local resources and facility capabilities that would support the requirements of any IEEE conference or meeting. In addition, the Conference Chair may be asked to serve as a General Chair for an inbound conference. In that capacity, as the General Chair, the Section Conference Chair may be required to form and coordinate a conference committee. The Section Conference Chair regularly reviews IEEE sites to determine if any conferences are scheduled for the Phoenix area. In cases where a conference has identified Phoenix as a host city for the event, the Section Conference Chair will develop a relationship with the conference organizers and is authorized to offer any assistance or resources to that conference as needed.
