Abstract:

Intel Labs is the research division of Intel Corporation, a Fortune 50 company and technology leader in the semiconductor industry. Intel Labs research aims to transform how machines think, learn, and adapt. Additionally, through academic and industry collaboration, Intel Labs works with and sponsors leading researchers around the world, including prominent university science and technology centers, the National Science Foundation, and the Semiconductor Research Corporation.

This talk broadly introduces Intel Labs and its main research areas, before focusing on specific topics of interest in AI for computer vision.

 

Authors:

Dr. Ibrahima J. Ndiour

Ibrahima Jacques Ndiour was born in Dakar, Senegal. He graduated with high honors from Université René Descartes (Paris V) with a DEUG in mathematics. He then attended the École Supérieure d’Électricité (Supélec), where he received a Diplôme d’Ingénieur. He subsequently received a M.S. and Ph.D., both in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), where he did his graduate research on the optimal estimation of dynamic curves for visual tracking. Dr. Ndiour is currently a Research Scientist at Intel Labs, with a research focus on the areas of computer vision, signal processing, applied statistics, and machine learning. He holds patents and has published peer-reviewed papers in reputed international journals and conferences.

 

Dr. Mahesh Subedar

Mahesh Subedar is a Research Scientist at Intel Labs. His areas of research include video processing, computer vision, and machine learning. He joined Intel in 2005, and since then has worked in multiple groups focusing on developing algorithms and IPs for various Intel products. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from PDA College of Engineering (India). He also holds an M.S. and Ph.D. degree, both in Electrical engineering from Arizona State University.
