The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Engineering Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is a chapter in the IEEE Metro LA Section. The chapter is a professional organization for engineers and engineering students who are interested in Biomedical Engineering a branch of engineering that applies engineering insights to solve problems in biology and medicine. Members work with bio-assistive technology, instrumentation and paramedical personnel. The chapter welcomes researchers and professionals from the greater Los Angeles community who work in Engineering in Medicine and Biology (EMB).

The EMBS chapter provides an open forum for engineers, physicians, biologists, researchers, and healthcare policy makers to encourage innovation, continuous education, career development, collaboration through socials discussion and sharing of cutting-edge technology. We invite renowned experts and speakers to present topics in bio-medical engineering areas with broad interest for members.
