IEEE Sensors Advisory Committee Leadership Summit 2023
IEEE Sensors Advisory Committee Leadership Summit 2023
Resolving Interoperability and Cybersecurity Issues for IoT-Enabled Sensor Devices ABOUT THE SUMMIT: (https://sagroups.ieee.org/ic23-001/home/committee/) was formed to address the challenges and implement solutions resulting in interoperable and cybersecure sensor devices. This committee will enable the fastrack development of a variety of solutions that might involve new standards, certification programs, implementation guidelines, open-source, registry, data sheets, etc. In order to achieve this, the IEEE SA along with the Department of Homeland Security and IEEE Sensors Council are hosting the Sensor Committee Leadership Summit to further their goals and objectives: - Discuss industry needs and recommendations - Identify key interoperability challenges, cybersecurity issues, and recommended resolutions - Define a path to interoperability and cybersecurity for IoT-enabled sensors Co-sponsored by: IEEE Standards Association Agenda: (https://engagestandards.ieee.org/2023-Global-Sensors-Summit-Agenda.html) Check back for updates to this 2 day event. IEEE MOVE Program Overview
IEEE MOVE Program Overview
Grayson Randall will provide an overview of the IEEE MOVE Program. Join us to learn about the mission and technology of the MOVE program. The IEEE MOVE volunteers respond to the hardest hit disaster areas to quickly provide the power and communications to the people impacted by a disaster. When not responding to disasters, MOVE provides public outreach and STEM education at schools, universities, IEEE events and public events. IEEE-USA Talking Tech Webinar: Megatrends
IEEE-USA Talking Tech Webinar: Megatrends
External factors unrelated to technology that include global pandemics and wars have influenced the development and applications of technology. As a result, the world has transformed itself and it continues to evolve and reinvent itself through technology. Technology is a key enabler of global transformation driven by comprehensive developments, often called “Megatrends.” Megatrends coalesce around multiple interacting or mutually dependent developments, last for a long time, and have broad impacts not just to technology, but to business, society and the environment. Simply put, they impact all of humanity. In this talk we present predictions of individual technology developments as well as megatrends. Supplying the Fight Against Cancer Using Particle Accelerators at Nusano
2024 IEEE Rising Stars Conference team presents THE RED DWARF STAR VIRTUAL SERIES Supplying the Fight Against Cancer Using Particle Accelerators at Nusano Leo Szeto Red Dwarf stars are the smallest and emerging in the universe. The Red Dwarf events represent the formation and growth of our IEEE Rising Stars Conference. The 2024 IEEE Rising Stars Conference team will be hosting a series of monthly events to show you a glimpse of what we are preparing for the conference. We'll be sharing some professional development and technical content throughout this series, as well as some of the networking experience. Join us on a series of informative and engaging events as we prepare for our large stage at the 2024 IEEE Rising Stars Conference, January 5-7, in Las Vegas at the Tropicana Hotel. The 2024 IEEE Rising Stars Conference registration is now open! We have an excellent line-up of speakers, sessions, workshops, and a couple surprises. Register now and take advantage of our Super Saver registration discount. Discount expires on November 12th. Register at: https://ieee-risingstars.org/ Leo Szeto, Director of Controls Systems and Electrical Engineering at Nusano Description: Radioisotopes have been used in medicine for decades. Doctors use tiny tracers like flashlights to light up areas inside the body, helping them target and treat disease. But today, the supply doesn’t meet the need. Logistical problems with radioisotope production are causing hundreds of thousands of patients in the US from getting the treatments they need to survive. Nusano aims to change the future of the industry by developing a system that will mass-produce radioisotopes at scale, using a breakthrough ion source technology combined with a particle accelerator, turning radioisotopes from scarcity to abundance. Fall NW/NE Area Meeting
Fall NW/NE Area Meeting
This is wonderful opportunity for volunteers and potential volunteers from the Northwest and Northeast areas of IEEE Region 6 (Washington, Orgeon, Idaho, Montana, and Utah) to come together and improve their ability to serve their members and community. This meeting has time set asside for working with region leaders to work together to help make plans for volunteers to execute in their sections. We hope this opportunitiy will benefit newer volunteers or those who are looking for fresh ideas to help their section grow. We are greatful for Boise State University for hosting the meeting!
