The members from IEEE Hawaii PES Chapter and IEEE Hawaii Women in Engineering group participated in and supported the Girl Powered STEM Workshop at Kaimuki Middle School, an inspiring outreach event designed to empower young students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The workshop brought together over 50 enthusiastic student participants, providing them with hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to explore robotics, coding, and engineering concepts. The event was led and organized by Team 4400, a dedicated group of Kaimuki Middle School students who planned, executed, and managed the program with professionalism and creativity.

Through this event, participants gained not only technical skills but also confidence, teamwork experience, and an appreciation for STEM disciplines. IEEE members joined to engage with the students, share insights, and encourage continued exploration of engineering pathways.

The Girl Powered STEM Workshop exemplifies how collaboration between IEEE, educators, and student-led teams can foster inclusivity, innovation, and excitement in STEM education—helping inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists in Hawai‘i.
