IEEE Day Ambassador — Kristine Joyce Locquiao

Kristine is a senior Electrical Engineering student at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, a very active IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) member, and also involved in the Society of Women Engineers. Growing up on O‘ahu, she was initially hesitant to pursue engineering — a field often seen as male-dominated and where few of her peers were represented. Yet, through mentorship, hands-on projects, and the support of strong engineering communities, Kristine discovered her true passion for sustainability and energy systems. 

On IEEE Day, October 7th, Kristine took the lead in organizing and hosting members’ engaging activities. Her efforts highlight her dedication to making STEM accessible and exciting for everyone.
